The authorities of the state have evicted the Protectors of Tara from Rath Lugh and the Hill of Tara.

A phone call today (Monday 12/05/08) informed me that the authorities have removed all tents, camps and benders from the Hill of Tara. What they have not dismantled is the tepee with the Vigil Fire inside it. This Vigil Fire has been kept burning since the Summer Sun Standing ceremony in 2006. Many thousands of people have visited Tara and sat beside this flame. It inspires them in a way that cannot be described. There is a sense of connectivity with the Protectors of Tara, the Ancestors and their traditions and with the sacred Hill itself.
There is to be a meeting between the Protectors of Tara and the Office of Public Works (OPW, state authority with responsibility for the 100 acres of the Hill of Tara) at the tepee on the northern slopes of Tara Hill on the 19 of May. You are invited to attend.
