Sli an Drui presents weekend workshops on the Eightfolds of the Solar Year as determined by Sidereal Time and shown on the Druidschool’s Calendar Natural Time as used by the pre-Celtic indigenous people of Ireland frees you from the mental slavery of the system that predominates today. On these weekends we provide the opportunity for you to make a deep connection to Source in a magical and supported group space by giving you the understanding and the techniques to plug into Natural Time. Your personal connection to the Three Realms and the Three Cauldrons and Celtic Natural Time is what gives you a framework to find and walk the Druid Path.
This Path is the ancient indigenous spiritual knowledge tradition of this land and all of our weekend workshops provide the techniques for today’s Celtic Man and Woman to find and begin to walk this Path if you are ready.
At Druidschool we teach and provide guidance for you to discover and express your higher self. This is achieved through focused magical training on a spiritual path of self-realisation in unity with Nature. This achieves a 'balance' between thinking and intuiting and this balance means being in the godlike awareness that we call the 'Witness'. This is where the modern Druid of today holds his / her awareness - i.e. 'lights turned on' and in balance.
Sli an Drui Weekend Workshop Activities
We begin Friday evening with an introduction to the daily practice of the Celtic Cross of Light and explain its reflection in the Belt of Stars or Zodiac. This is followed with explanation and practice of our Blessing to the Three Realms. We have constructed a Teach Allais or Gaelic Bronze Age Sweat House, which we visit briefly on Friday night so as to familiarize each participant with what to expect on Saturday at 3pm. While inside the Teach Allais (sweat lodge) the meaning and intention of a sacred sweat as spiritual rebirth is explained and the Light hidden within Quartz stones is revealed.
On the Saturday morning the focus of the weekend is presented i.e. Samhain, Winter Sun Standing, Imbolg, Spring Equinox, Beltine, Summer Sun Standing, Lughnasa, Autumn Equinox. This gives the traditional understanding of the ancient Gaelic festival in the Eightfold Year and we rehearse for the actual ceremony at noon on Sunday. After lunch at 3pm we enter the Teach Allais for about one hour and on leaving we pour cold water on ourselves to send a shiver down to our very core, next we dress and get our blankets. By 5pm we have moved onto the Torc for the Vision Quest. The Vision Quest is held in our own ceremonial enclosure or Torc where each of us will have enough room while still being together as a group to process and work with our Visions following the Sweat. At about 8pm we have an evening meal that is followed by a debriefing session.
On Sunday morning the group is given an explanation and introduction to connecting with the Telluric Energies. This is achieved at Level One by means of divining subtle energies using brass divining rods. Basic skills including self-checking are given and the Vortex at energy nodes will be found and connected to, filling Auras to capacity. At noon we hold ceremony in the Torc to honour the appropriate Festival. After ceremony and chat in the Torc we have Lunch in the main building. After lunch, the deeper meaning for each Drui of the Solar year and Lunar Year is shared and these cycles of the Sun an Moon can be seen as energising / activating our intentions to enjoy your self-transformation as a personal experience of spiritual alchemy. This includes entry as a Drui Dalta or Student Druid.
Gaelic Druid’s Tradition of Triplicities
The Realms of Sea, Land and Sky are mirrored in each person as the Cauldrons of Warming, Vocation and Knowledge. Fire is not held as a Realm as it is central to movement within and between the Three Realms. Water is seen as filling the Cauldrons and is the medium for movement within and through the Three Cauldrons. Imbas is the subtle energy of the Universe that flows in and through Water and Fire, but it does this in different ways. Integrating knowledge with personal understanding and personal experience of the Three Realms and Three cauldrons with the flow of Universal Imbas through Fire and Water is the way of spiritually transforming your place in the world as you find and walk the Path of the Drui. This is what attending the Sli and Drui weekend workshops can show for you – but you have to walk your own Path.
