Na Drui as an Doire Geallach Doracha (the Drui of the Dark Moon Grove) gathered on Tara on the 2nd of Nov 09 for our Full Moon 'Ritual of Protection' at 8:30pm ish. We had brought the sacred firebox and a bag of dry wild wood to hold our ceremonial fire and we had also brought a large Quartz Sandstone from Ireland's Druidschool up at Castlerea in north County Roscommon to be added to the Ancestral Memorial Cairn after ceremony.
We were honoured by being joined by A Shaolin Sifu and a Shaolin Monk and two of their friends. We lit the fire and with the power of the wind encouraging the flames we had a bright ball of light glowing in the night at the centre of our ceremony in no time at all. We added the large rock to the centre beside the firebox and explained our reasoning for our ceremony. This is the Dedication, the idea behind our open ceremony and our actual intention is shared before we enter the actual ritual.
We have held this open and free ritual ceremony on Tara at every full moon since the Spring Equinox of 2003 and they all seem to merge into one great experience. Light rain supported by light wind and the shadowy forms of sheep nearby did not distract us from our intention. We offered healing for friends as we always do and this time we included Issac Bonowitz who is a Druid leader in America and is currently suffering from a dis ease that he has elected to use Chemotherapy for.
Our core intention is to free the Light at Tara and as we went through our simple ceremony we were told by the Shaolin Sifu that we were doing exactly the same tradition with the same intention as his tradition. I was pleased to hear this - it is the Primordial Tradition that links all on a Spiritual Path. I recalled and shared that a Native American Indian spiritual elder had said the same thing to us over two years ago when he had joined us at ceremony on a full moon at Tara.
After our ceremony Red John added our blessed quartz stone to the Ancestral Memorial Cairn at Collierstown - see the images below. The big bright stone was the one charged up at our ceremony.
I will take this opportunity to remind all - our full moon ceremonies are open and free to all who care to join us - you do not have to be on a Drui path - you just have to care about the Light of Truth.
