The Solar powered battery fence below is a sign that sustainability is important now in many areas. A local man has 4 horses on our land and he obtained the solar charger for Euro100. Seen here before the snow fall, it was later necessary to clear it of snow to keep it working because otherwise there would be no charge being fed to the battery and the line would fail.

Our Torc (ceremonial enclosure) stands out strongly with its covering of snow. I have adjusted the brightness and contrast to show the shape clearly. Our land extends to the forest in the middle distance and in the far distance you can see the plains of Roscommon covered in snow.

On Monday 21 Dec 09 I took the picture of the two jets below. They are flying northwest in late afternoon. The lower one has a standard size condensation vapor trail (con-trail) behind it and the higher jet (appearing so but maybe be the same height) has an extended chemical trail behind it. Whatever this jet is releasing into the air - it is not the standard short lived vapor. These jets are either American or English. I have modified the contrast and brightness to best show the differences between the trails. Why is our Irish atmosphere being seeded with chemicals by a foreign nation?
 
Con-trails and chem-trails Dec 09

On Tuesday, the day after the Solstice I noticed that the shape of the snow crystals had a new appearance with the second heavy fall. I cannot recall ever seeing snow spikes like this before. We are in a remote area and a long way away from any chemical factory, bear in mind that all factories are closed on the 26th of Dec in Ireland so I wonder if the chem-trails from the jets above influenced the new linear structural geometry in the normal flat flake shapes?

Online research suggests that these snow spikes are in fact known as "surface hoar". Quote - "This consists of ice crystals that form on top of snow banks, usually overnight. The sparkles you see coming from a field of snow are often reflections off the facets of surface hoar crystals. Surface hoar typically forms when a snowbank warms up during the day and is then cooled again overnight. The night air cools the surface of the snowbank more than the inside, so that water can evaporate from inside the snowbank and recrystalize on the surface. By morning the snowbank is covered with a layer of faceted ice crystals, and they can be quite large. These usually melt again once the sun comes up, so the best time to find surface hoar is early in the morning." from SnowCrystals.com Guide to Frost. Just maybe this is only a modern explanation of a modern effect?

"Da Duit Con-Just wanted to let you know that where I live in Maine,USA hoar frost is a common occurance and the scientific explanation is correct. When the Celts first were in the Isles and Britain they also encountered this phenomenon, but as the areas warmed it became more of a rarity, although I believe I read mention of it in some text descibing the area of Cornwall around Arthur's time as" having a period of bitter cold so that the flowers themselves were as of ice and snow" I believe this was a description of hoar frost. It IS a naturally occuring thing in cold climates and has Nothing to do with chemicals from planes 'cars'diesal emmissions etc. I hope I have helped to put your mind at ease. Crystal snow spikes Druidschool 22 Dec 09

Due to the heavy fall of snow on the Sunday all Drui Daltai and Drui Fasach were asked to say over for an extra night without charge. The roads were dangerous and our ambitious plans to visit Rathkinnely with Mike Croghan for the sunrise at Cruachan on Solstice morning disappeared. So did our intention to make it to Bru na Boinne (Newgrange) for our traditional noon on solstice ceremony.

Red John was at Newgrange and his email to me said -
Hi Con, Only myself at Newgrange at 12.00 noon today, hung around till about 12.40. Did a cross of light, blessing to the 3 realms & connected with the energy there. Energy was nice but very chilly there. Headed home & had Sun standing ceremony in the warmth of the sitting room. I have done the cross of light 3 times today, I really noticed the energy lift the third time. Nearly two hours later am still feeling very light and clear. Nice
