This Pilgrimage was rewarded with both magnificent sun rise and sun set. A great Drum and Dance circle was enjoyed by many and a video was made by third level film students - posted soon. Please enjoy the images that follow - while a picture can say a thousand words - there are not enough pictures to share the experience of the day fully.
We arrived at the north end of the Banqueting Hall about 15 minutes before sunrise - see below
Meath Co Co and OPW guard the gate
The image above shows the 'authorities' guarding an entrance to the Hill of Tara - their agenda; to stop anyone camping on the hill. They foolishly have two vans with engines running all night and a Portaloo chemical toilet to keep them company. This is how those who serve the Irish people defend the temples of our ancestors - by putting vans and toilets on National Monuments in their attempt to stop people spending the night camping on the Hill of Tara.
