The following images were taken by members of Ireland's Druidschool at Brú na Boinne (Newgrange) on the morning of Thursday 21-12-06. A beautiful sun rise. I am reminded that the weather on the Summer Solstice was heavy - wet and windy with heavy cloud cover and that it was actually quite mild or even slightly warm at the Brú on the first of three shortest days of the year. The seasons are not as distinct as they used to be - even in one lifetime - this is obvious. Enjoy the images and if you have any yourself - please submit them with your name. The first image was taken by me in Dublin at noon 21/12/06 and shows how the real world inspired the idea of Lights on a Tree. Tiny drops of dew / rain act as prisms that transform the light of the sun into sparkling balls of rainbow coloured magic.
