This casual destruction displays the arrogance of the construction crews - they seem to reckon they will not be prosecuted for such criminality. The image below is of the line of bones before destruction.

The destruction crews managed to do this damage because there are only a few protesters and they cannot be everywhere. The destruction crews however have huge resources, vans, trucks, diggers, dumpers, low loaders and a lot of personell. They just sneaked in and destroyed the bones that were so visibly displayed while there were no protesters around. They must have reversed and drove forward a few times to make sure that all bones were crushed.

They had the guts to sit in their truck and have tea (as shown above) knowing that the protesters could do nothing about it. But that is not the truth - the truth is that by their actions - they have caused a stronger resistance in the Campaign to Save Tara group. As news of this savage destruction of the ancient bones circulated around the Campaign to Save Tara - the annoyance grew. The huge tracked diggers were attacked as protesters climbed on the tracks and entered the cabs shouting at the drivers. One by one they turned off the engines - one driver was a mature local man (only on his second day on the job) and when he found out that he had been destroying an ancient grave yard he started to cry. Another digger (shown below) had a protester climb on to the bucket and shout and wave. The protester then went up into the cab and told the digger driver to stop. He did. Protesters began to lay down on the ground in front of machines as well as climbing up on to the tracks and even into the cabs. The machine below was tearing the banks of the ancient monument at Collierstown when one of the protestors jumped up on the bucket.

What had been happening? There are so many layers to the story it is not possible to share it all. The machinery was in the compound and all seemed quiet. Then the main contractor played a fast one - he hired a small local company to do a few days work and it is this company that is shown above. The main archaeological contractor representative from ACS ltd tried to tell me that the diggers were just back filling the trenches. I told him that was untrue. The process of back filling is to take earth from some where and add it to the trenches but what was going on here was a bashing and mashing of the sides of the banks to disappear the expression of the monument. I told him he shoud be ashamed of himself. This is not the study of the old ways - this is comercial destruction.

At this stage in mid afternoon on 29 May 07, the ACS man asked if he could take the digger off the site without anyone throwing them selves under the tracks. He got agreement from the protesters and then he came up and asked me for permission. I told him that he was destroying an ancient culure for personal profit and he was not an archaeologist. I told him that the bags of bones that they have in their depot at Drogheda are known and that the resources to preserve them do not exist. He denied this and I quoted to him the true costs of excavation and preserving and properly recording even the contents of just one of these huge monuments at Tara to be way in excess of his allowed E30m. He just looked the other way. He did not expect anyone to be so well briefed.
 
More bones - Baronstown, Tara 29 May07

The image above and the image below are both of more bones found at Collierstown on the 29th of May 2007. It is very clear that there has not been a full excavation of the remains at this or any other monument in the sacred valley of Tara. The main contractor - Siac Ferrovial has merely paid lip service to the idea of archaeological excavation. Their spin doctors down play every thing and dismiss finds. Mary Devious, main archaeologist of the NRA repeatedly tells lies. She must be being well paid - she is not an archaeologist - she is a disgrace.

The national museum has been informed of the multiple finds and their destruction by the contractor and they have said that they will be on site to inspect. But the problem is that the senior person in the museum is not an archaeologist but instead it is a man called Wallace who claims a Doctorate but this has been exposed as a qualification that you can buy off the internet. So who can repect his decision? He once said in the public arena - "one day the M3 will be seen as a monument". The Gardaí are without will power and keep taking names of protesters even though they (the Gardaí) say that no laws have been broken - they still lean on the protesters and support the developer.

So far the Gardaí have not made any arrests for the damage to ancient bones nor for the brutal violence against peaceful protesters. Instead, the Gardaí have watched as the workers beat up the protesters and the Gardaí have taken names of the protesters on a regular basis as a form of harrassment. The colloidal silver and comfrey cream that I supplied have helped to cure the brusing and septic scraring that the protesters suffered, but the builders are un-repentant. The ownership of the lands at Baronstown, Collierstown and at Lismullin - three sites with huge and incredibly important monuments is still with the original owners. The NRA have taken forced possession and not even paid the farmers who resist such actions. The whole thing is happening with such aggression right now as the country is between governements - the intention is clear, get the service road through the valley at all costs before June 14 07 when a new government is declared.
